It’s Sophie again! Another great AGE UP year has come to an end :(. Spending a 2nd year with these wonderful girls has been a wonderful experience and I find myself incredibly eager for next year.
Graduation took place at Seward Park in the evening under a barbeque shelter with Mt. Rainier in the background. Upon arrival, second years were challenged with matching other AGE UP girls with their baby pictures. Some AGE UP girls still resembled their baby pictures, others looked completely different. Many giggles were exchanged but only one was successful enough to identify all of the babies. Hallie!
During the baby identifying activity, Lisa and her fiance, Colt, grilled some delicious hotdogs and veggie dogs. YUMMY! And of course, since it was also a potluck; salads, noodles, and baked goods, accompanied our graduation meal. It was an honor to be surrounded by such great ultimate players AND great cooks. After our meal, we sat down in a line to receive our 2nd year certificates. Each group leader called up their girls and recognized each girls’ achievements throughout their 2nd year.
Along with our certificates, we received a letter of recommendation each coach had written for us for future use. In the letter, our attributes and leadership skills were highlighted for our benefit.
I would like to give a BIG shout out and thank you to Lisa, Leah, Hana, and Sam for putting so much work and effort into this program and for writing such thoughtful letters of recommendation. Oh, and did I mention? They’re AWESOME! I love AGE UP.
