Hi my name is Deqa, today we had a tournament on the field next to Mercer. It was SOO fun, because there were several activities (Ultimate related) that you could choose to do.
I decided to play the Goaltimate with Gwen, and although it was hard, I kept trying, and I was encouraged which was really great & made me feel like I’m GOOD at Frisbee! And that’s one thing AGE UP is good at, encouraging others & bringing people up. That whole was really exciting, and I made a lot of new friends. I also talked with a couple of college girls, who were very nice & told me not to worry too much college. That helped me a lot because I’m extremely nervous, and they helped me understand & get through my choices.
Hello, my name is Morgan and I go to Garfield High School, and am a part of boys AGE UP in its first year. Today we had a tournament in which we combined with the girls to play several different games such as Goaltimate, mini, boot, and eventually full field scrimmaging. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Despite the cold and at one point the sprinkling rain, everybody had smiles on their face to the very end. My team was very spirited the entire time, and actually won the spirit award at the end of the tournament! It was very fun the entire time to spend time with my AGE UP family. Ubuntu!
Hey there, I’m Elyzha, a proud freshman at Cleveland High School. Today was a great Frisbee tournament day, thanks to not only the workout but also the experience of being back on the turf and getting into the sport I love most. I’m glad I took this opportunity to reunite with my old friends and meet new friends as well. The team I was put on showed a lot of skill and sportsmanship and I had a swell time bonding with them and getting to know them more, especially during the group discussion. It helped me voice out my opinion on today’s Frisbee tournament and a better sense of my future. Now I know that even if carrying on my dream of becoming an engineer doesn’t happen instantly after high school, I know that I am not alone. I can start working at Costco until I figure myself out (that’s right, food samples all day, everyday!). The discussion with the group helped boost my idealism on my future- school wise and athletically.
